UPDATE – JUNE 29, 2020

Effective today – June 29th, 2020, all City of Taylorville Buildings will be open to the general public.

If you have any COVID-19 questions or concerns, please call the Christian County Health Department between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday at (217) 824-4113.  You may also contact the Illinois Department of Public Health’s 24/7 Coronavirus Hotline at 1-800-889-3931 or e-mail at

If you have symptoms or you aren’t feeling well, please “first” call your Doctor’s office or local walk-in-clinic.  Do NOT go to your Doctor’s office or the Emergency Room at the hospital before calling first.  If you have any questions or concerns, please call the Christian County Public Health Department at (217) 824-4113.

Council meetings will be open to the public but we request that you contact the Mayor’s office or your Alderman with any specific concerns.  We will not be doing a “Youth of the Month” or “Volunteer of the Month” for the time being to limit access to the City Hall due to safety concerns.  Also,  we have increased our cleaning routine to several times a day throughout the Municipal Building.
